“ZULU CHILD” is a hand-painted artwork on wood by White Rabbit (Riccardo Lopez), part of the “Zulu Fashion Week” collection—a series that uses bitter irony to critique the forces of globalization, immigration, and capitalism’s deceptive allure.

In this piece, a Zulu child is depicted in traditional red garments, standing in an intricate background of baroque gold, earthy hues, and blue tones. Above their head, a luxury-brand-inspired crown resembling the Chanel logo serves as a stark metaphor for cultural erasure, false aspirations, and the commodification of identity.

White Rabbit skillfully blends stencil, spray paint, and street art techniques to create a visually arresting social critique. The work challenges the impact of Western materialism on indigenous cultures, questioning the reality of economic promises versus the displacement they cause.
